Kwetsani Camp is situated in the north-western Okavango, on an island with mangosteen, palm and fig trees. Kwetsani Camp offers a luxurious yet intimate experience, with access to huge open floodplains and beautiful Okavango islands.
Accommodation is in five tree house chalets, all constructed of canvas, glass, thatch and wood. Each has an en-suite bathroom, and the chalets offer open, and airy accommodation. The main areas house a dining room, lounge, drinks area and swimming pool (an excellent spot for game viewing). The dining room, lounge and drinks area at Kwetsani are set under a large, cool thatched roof and offer incredible views of the surrounding floodplains dotted with lechwe, wildebeest and other plains game. Activities at Kwetsani Camp include both land and water expeditions (which are dependent on the annual flood levels of the Delta). Game drives and mokoro excursions lead you on adventures where lion, leopard, wild dog, cheetah, tsessebe and red lechwe are regularly sighted. The Camp also boasts two game viewing hides. Hippo, sitatunga antelope and crocodile live in the deeper, permanently lily-filled lagoons of the area. Night drives (also seasonal), offer guests the opportunity of viewing porcupine, aardwolf, serval, large spotted genet and lesser bushbaby. In times of high water guests are transferred by boat to game drive areas; and boating is offered in the waterways to the west of camp. In addition, fishing (there is a limited supply of basic equipment) is on offer seasonally - catch and release basis. |
