During the Dry Season (15 April – 31 October): The birds and animals migrate and guests are able to experience the vastness of the Makgadikgadi on quad bikes. Bushman walks offer a window into the past. Visits to Chapman’s Baobab, the third largest tree in Africa, where Livingstone and Selous camped. Game such as aardvark, gemsbok and springbuck are prevalent, along with the elusive brown hyaena. Walk through the Kalahari with a gang of habituated but wild meerkat. During the Wet Season (1 November – 14 April): The landscape is transformed as water gathers in the Pan. Algae bloom, crustaceans breed and flamingos arrive. Herds of zebra and wildebeest are drawn to the lush grass, and the predators follow them. You will be able to witness this migration, the second largest in Africa. |
