Kings Pool overlooks and oxbow-shaped Kings Pool Lagoon in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, which borders
Chobe National Park. Kings Pool has nine luxurious tents (including one family unit), each with a large bedroom area and lounge leading out onto a veranda. All of the accommodation boasts a private plunge pool and thatched Sala from which to enjoy the splendid views. Spacious en-suite bathrooms all have double showers and hand-basins, as well as an outdoor shower. The Camp's spacious main area comprises a lounge, dining room and a bar, all tastefully built on expansive raised decks. There is also a swimming pool and an open-air Boma, from which to enjoy alfresco dining. Activities at King's Pool Camp are varied: day and night game drives, nature walks, seasonal cruises on the Queen Sylvia barge, seasonal fishing (catch and release), and outstanding bird watching (the Linyanti Concession an internationally recognised Important Bird Area (IBA), particularly for birds of prey and water birds). The Camp also has two hides - one located at the western end of the Camp, and the other underground, with the water at eye level. You can also enjoy massage treatments in the privacy of your tent. The Linyanti Wildlife Reserve is home to diverse wildlife, but is perhaps best known for its very large elephant population, especially during the dry winter months. Other wildlife such as impala, lechwe, kudu, zebra, giraffe, buffalo and bushbuck, and predators: lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and spotted hyaena are commonly sighted. Rarer species such as sable and roan antelope sometimes emerge from the woodlands during the dry season. |
