Kwara Camp overlooks a secluded lagoon in the northern Okavango Delta, and the area offers the useful combination of the permanent waterways of the Okavango, along with extensive dry land - all of which adds to the game viewing, and overall experience.
The new Kwara has 9 luxury tents, of which has a spacious deck overlooking the lagoon, an en suite bathroom with both indoor and outdoor showers and a gorgeous bath. All of the tents enjoy a view out to the floodplains. There is a ceiling fan in the tent and mosquito nets around the beds. The camp has an extensive main area, with lovely views. This area houses the lounge and dining area. As there are now 2 small swimming pool areas, there is additional private space for guests. Each of the pools has a small bar and pool loungers. Within the exclusive concession in which Kwara is located, it offers a good selection of activities. In addition to classic day and night game drives, you can enjoy a game walk, mokoro excursions, and power boating, as a way in which to explore the area. In addition there is seasonal fishing (spinning equipment is provided but fly fisherman need to bring their own equipment). The fishing boat is a double-decker that also visits Godikwe Lagoon, which is set in within the Moremi Game Reserve. The fishing season runs from March to December. Kwara is also known for its excellent predators sightings, including lion, cheetah, and leopard. Herds of elephants also frequent the area, as well as giraffe, zebra, sitatunga, lechwe, impala and hippos. There are also some rare sightings of white rhino. Please note: The age limit for Kwara is a minimum of 18 years of age and there are no family rooms. Kwara must be booked for a stay of minimum of 3 nights. |
