Chobe Princess 1 (ex Pride of the Zambezi)
For the ultimate Chobe River experience, there is no better way than by spending time on board the Pride of the Zambezi (now renamed Chobe Princess 1) Houseboat. This luxury boat, berthed on the Chobe River, offers 6 double or twin cabins, all with great views, beautiful touches, and private en-suite facilities. Privately owned, high standards are maintained by the hands on owners of the boat.
The Chobe Princess 1 is situated only 70km upstream from Victoria Falls, and a short drive and boat transfer away from Kasane Airport, Botswana.
The three decks of the Houseboat are designed as follows:
Top Deck: The Honeymoon Suite, comprising a double bed, private deck, dressing table, built-in cupboards, wall-to-wall carpeting and an en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet, hand basin, bidet and shaving points. Sliding doors open on to the top deck. The suite is air-conditioned and comes complete with mosquito screens, a remote control fan, electronic safe, hair dryer, dressing gowns and slippers.
The middle deck has a unique roller shutter system that enables the entire deck to be closed off at the touch of a button. This deck is fully air-conditioned, with a luxury seating area for fourteen; a fully equipped bar; and a dining room for up to 16 guests. There is also a ten seater Jacuzzi with outside seating / entertainment area and a powder room.
The five up market cabins on the Chobe Princess 1 are situated on the bottom deck. Each is air-conditioned and can be made up as a twin or double room. All cabins have electronic safes, remote controlled fans, mosquito gauze, built-in cupboards and hairdryers. The cabins have superb views over the river, whilst the front cabin boasts its own private deck.
As you recline and relax on board, you will have the best vantage of Chobe’s wildlife. Huge herds of elephant and buffalo, predators, and all the plains game. Birding is incomparable. Hippos and crocodiles sun metres away. All meals are included, presided over by a proud onboard chef.
Both line and fly fishing activities are offered, together with bird-watching, game viewing by tender boat, or, at an additional charge, game drives into the Park, mokoro trips, or canoeing.
Experience the waterways of Botswana and Namibia in a unique fashion – you will long to return.
