Xugana Island Lodge

Xugana Island Lodge is situated on a private concession, overlooking the Moremi Game Reserve. Xugana Lagoon is arguably one of the most spectacular permanent water sites in the entire Okavango.

Accommodation is for just 16 guests in large raised reed and thatch en suite chalets, all of which face the lagoon. Enjoy great views from your private deck.

Xugana's main area is an open-sided thatched building, housing the lounge, bar and dining area - all of which are set back under the ebony and African Mangosteen tree canopy. The Boma and al fresco dining area overlook Xugana Lagoon's expanse of pristine water, and beyond.

You can cool-off in the Xuagana Island Lodge's swimming pool, located within the mature gardens in the centre of the island - a perfect place to relax.

Explore the Okavango Delta by motorboat or mokoro (canoe) or via nature walks on the surrounding islands. The area is ideal for bird watching and the Tiger and Bream fishing is excellent.

Mokoro trips take place in eco-friendly dugout canoes built in the traditional design, whilst boat safaris to lagoons and nearby islands enable guests to explore further afield.  The bush walks offer guests the chance to see the Delta denizens such as sitatunga and lechwe antelope, crocodile and hippo, as well as the other big game that frequents the islands and riverine fringes. Bird-watching opportunities are outstanding.  Nothing beats a sundowner on the Xugana Lagoon – a sight which will remain etched forever.
