Linyanti Bush Camp is set on overlooking the Linyanti marshes, in a private concession which borders on the western edge of the Chobe enclave. The camp is therefore away from the main tourist routes.
Linyanti Bush Camp is a small and intimate property, accommodating only 12 guests, in well appointed tented accommodation, with en suite facilities. The bathroom sections have been upgraded and are now separated by a door from the bedroom area. All bathrooms now boast an option indoor/ outdoor feature, with views over the marsh. The central Camp area is also under Canvas, and contains a dining area, library, bar and lounge, with deck, all of which overlooks the Linyanti. There is small pool with expansive deck, excellent for enjoying a relaxed afternoon, or for private dining in the evening. You get to explore the area on morning and afternoon game drives, as well as night drives, with spotlight, allowing you to see the nocturnally active species. In addition, there are guided walks, adding to the authentic safari experience that is part of the Linyanti Bush Camp experience. The area is best known for its large populations of Elephant and buffalo that congregate in vast numbers especially during the dry season. As this is a diverse area, lion, sable, roan, leopard, wild dog, and a number of the plains game can be enjoyed. The rare and elusive sitatunga antelope, red lechwe, hippo and crocodile can be found in the surrounding marshes. The Linyanti Swamps are one of the most attractive areas in the park and as it is the only source of water in the dry months, there are excellent concentrations of wildlife. The area's relative remoteness makes it a favoured wild safari destination and one of the most well sort after areas in Northern Botswana. You can also enjoy some spectacular birding all year round in this area. Generally only children 12 years and older are accepted. |
