Mapula Lodge

Mapula Lodge is situated in the northern section of the Okavango Delta, bordering the  Moremi Game Reserve. Mapula Lodge benefits from its position by being able to offer both land and water based activities.
 
Accommodation at Mapula is in 8 luxury chalets inspired by traditional design, and the use of local wood provides unique detail. Each chalet has a small lounge, and a large bathroom complete with bath, twin sinks and outside shower. You also have a large veranda which offers wonderful views over a lagoon.

The guest area has sweeping decks, and overlooks the permanent lagoon which is home to a pod of hippo. The main lodge area has the comfortable lounge, dining area and a bar with one of the best views in the Okavango Delta. In addition, there is also a small library and swimming pool.

As Mapula Lodge is in a private concession, you get to explore the area by day and night, and off road. By day game drives take you out in the early morning, and the afternoon drive continues into the evening. This is when you get to meet some of the nocturnal wildlife – such as serval, African Wildcat, honey badger , and porcupine to name but a few!

You can also enjoy a guided walk - a wonderful way to experience your environment, and a chance to meet some of the smaller denizens of the Okavango.

Walking can also be combined with a mokoro trip – arguably the best way to explore the waterways of the Delta… as you glide silently along, in utter tranquillity.

Guests can also take a boat trip at Mapula. A small boat takes you along some of the larger channels and into the lagoons… birding is excellent, as is the chance of spotting some diverse wildlife.
