Linyanti Expeditions

Linyanti Expeditions is a small, traditional and authentic camp set on the edge of a private concession within the Linyanti area of Chobe. This is a remote area, and adds a wonderful dimension to your Safari experience.

Accommodation is in 6 tents, ensuring an intimate atmosphere and personalised attention at all times. The tents of the classic design, but with some modern twists. At Linyanti Expeditions the tents are set at ground level, and are en suite (flush toilet and al fresco bucket showers). Each tent boasts a “Star Suite” – which is a gazebo-like extension, allowing the beds to be moved at night. This allows for sleeping under the stars, but within a meshed area with is part of the main tent.

At Linyanti Expeditions the main area is divided into 2 canvas-covered areas. The first being the dining area and open-plan kitchen. This allows you to see the food preparation and to appreciate how the excellent meals are produced.

The other is the comfortable and open lounge area. Enjoy relaxing here and watching the passing wildlife. Central to these areas is the delightful and popular camp-fire, which is the main feature after dinner.

The focus of Linyanti Expeditions is on walking safaris, which is a departure from most Botswana lodges. Accompanied by one of the experienced walking guides, explore the wild for one to two hours. You can also enjoy a full day walking safari, which can be arranged in advance and you then have a private guide.

Children under 16 can also enjoy nature walks around the camp led by a child-certified walking guide as part of the Cub Club. All walking safaris are usually conducted when the bush is not too thick.

In addition Linyanti Expeditions also offers morning, afternoon and night game drives - which are only available on private concessions. The night drive opens up a whole new world of game viewing for you.

Guests can also experience the local waterways on a mokoro excursion. Traditionally, the mokoro was the only form of transport through the waterways. Glide along the water an make the most of this most tranquil and interesting way of enjoying the area. Game viewing, and birding in particular, can be most rewarding.

The camp is open annually from May to October.
